Global Money Week

Project overview

Global Money Week is an international campaign that promotes financial education and awareness among children and youth. For this initiative, I designed a digital campaign tailored specifically for young audiences in Mexico and Guatemala, in collaboration with Banco Azteca’s Aprende y Crece program.

Main target audience

The concept focused on using bold colors, approachable visuals, and conversational language to capture the attention of Gen Z. Each piece included engaging, culturally relevant phrases designed to spark interest in money management and digital banking.

My goal was to make financial education feel relevant, cool, and empowering—so that young people start thinking early about how to make smart choices with their money.

Results

Mexico: As part of Global Money Week 2022, Banco Azteca, through its Aprende y Crece program, organized financial education workshops in collaboration with the Museo Interactivo de Economía (MIDE).

Activities included musical theater performances designed to reflect everyday financial situations, encouraging youth to adopt responsible money habits.

Guatemala: The Central Bank of Guatemala reached over 5,000 children and youth through its Economic and Financial Culture Festival.

The event featured interactive exhibits and discussion spaces, all designed to make financial education accessible and engaging for younger audiences.

Visual Impact

My designs were featured in the official promotional materials for both countries and appeared in a Global Money Week 2022 recap video, contributing to the campaign’s educational and emotional resonance with young audiences.

The video titled "Global Money Week 2022" is a dynamic montage celebrating the 10th anniversary of Global Money Week (GMW), an initiative organized by the OECD International Network on Financial Education (OECD/INFE). It showcases a series of vibrant images and clips from various events held worldwide, emphasizing the campaign's mission to promote financial literacy among youth. The visuals include workshops, seminars, and creative activities like drawings and performances, all aimed at educating young people about money management.
